Site Manager / Project Coordinator | FRANCE

The Site Manager is responsible for preparing sites prior to the commencement of construction work and overseeing the build of the installation. He or she plans projects and ensure that they meet agreed specifications budgets, timescales. This includes setting out the site and organizing activities to support the build. The site manager is on hand throughout the build to assess progress and solve problems that arise.

What do you do as a Site Manager?

  • The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing operations of the whole site on a day-to-day basis and that a project is realized on time and in budget.
  • Site Managers are also responsible for taking on staff and preparing the site, including installing temporary offices and facilities before construction work starts.
  • Site Managers are responsible for organizing all needed manpower, tools or any specific material so the installation team can perform the works within budget, timeframe and compliance of the HSE rules of the site.
  • During the construction of a project a Site Managers role will be to monitor the progress and report back to the client or client’s representatives, ensure the safety of the team and site workers and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Your tasks/privileges

  • Liaising with clients and client’s representative to update on progress via phone calls, written reports and presentations.
  • Liaising with a variety of professionals, such as contractors, project specialists and regulatory representatives (o.a. site inspectors, HSE representative).
  • Supervising contracted staff and meeting with sub-contractors.
  • Reporting progress to clients and the Project Manager.
  • Problem solving.
  • Sourcing materials.
  • Checking and preparing site reports, drawings and designs.
  • Making safety inspections and ensuring site procedures uphold construction and site regulations.
  • Monitoring progress of the project.
  • Keeping staff motivated and focused.
  • Responsible for a neat working environment.
  • Carrying out and archiving project administration.

The knowledge and experience is expected to be at Bachelor level. In addition, a technical education (WTB) and /or work experience in this role is important. The Project Coordinator has had a Supervisor Health and Safety training.

Working conditions
The Site Manager usually works on the projects base. The work can takes place at the various locations in office conditions, but will mainly take place on site and sometimes also in the workshop itself. In the workshop and on site there may be nuisance due to dust, dirt, drafts, noise and climate conditions.  You will be travelling on a regular basis to our headoffice in the Netherlands.

General company information

  • Workplace: varies, depending on the project
  • Travel: is sometimes necessary to meet with clients and sub-contractors.
  • Working hours are from 07:30 till 16.30. But evening and weekend hours can be expected around deadlines.
